🔥Fireside Chat: Emotional Healing 101
Hey Reader I want to skip the stories today and cut straight to the point.
I'm going to compress my last decade of work around emotional healing and how it affects relationships, finances and health into a 2.5~ minute read.
Here we go!
If your relationship isn't working, you are most likely afraid of feeling unworthy, angry or unsafe.
Your unworthiness shows up as always being the first to apologize (even when you're not wrong), saying yes when you mean no, and obsessing about them and what they're doing (followed by self-abandonment)
Your suppressed anger shows up as going silent instead of speaking up in the moment, rolling your eyes or bringing up old arguments during new fights, and constantly complaining about your partner to friends without addressing things directly.
Your rejection of feeling unsafe expresses itself as wanting to check their phone, know where they are at all times and with who, having rules about what they can or can't do, getting upset when plans change unexpectedly and even getting triggered when they talk to certain "threatening" people.
If you don't feel abundant, you're most likely afraid of feeling stupid, not good enough or caged.
So your fear of looking stupid shows up as fear of visibility (sharing your voice online), imposter syndrome and constantly feeling fake (like you have to perform, hoping nobody finds out who you REALLY are!)
Your fear of not being good enough shows up as "perfectionism" (fear masked as virtue), procrastination and excessive self-criticism, because if you never put your imperfect work out there, you never have to face the possibility of judgement.
Your fear of feeling caged shows up as self-sabotage - emails you don't respond to timely, appointments you forget, things you don't put in your calendar as a subconscious attempt to keep it "FREE" and maintain the illusion of control over your time.
If you are constantly having health complications, you are most likely afraid of feeling most emotions.
Autoimmune problems reflect your self-criticism and constant self-punishment that your mind inflicts on your body.
Chronic inflammation reflects stored anger and unexpressed boundaries.
Joint pain often points towards a lack of flexibility and being too rigid with yourself and others...
And shoulder, chest and back pain are often linked to the fear of feeling alone, so you've decided to shoulder the world's weight by yourself so people will need you, and therefore NEVER abandon you.
And here's the thing:
None of your 'problems' will ever go away until you build up the courage to fully feel and digest the emotions that you are afraid of facing.
However, on the other side of feeling all of it, there is freedom.
There's also deep clarity!
In fact, most people who overthink about important life decisions waste months or even years worrying and doing pros+cons lists about career changes, divorce decisions or even moving cities..
Not realizing that what the mind can't figure out in 20 minutes, it will NEVER figure out in 20 years..
Because it's like trying to use a microscope to look into the galaxies.
Powerful tool, yes!
But wrong one for the task at hand.
Because you will never find a thinking solution to a feeling problem.
So what to do?
Well, feel your feelings :)
And how to do that?
Personally, I've found it best to do it in a guided manner.
Heavy emotions can be scary and may feel like a dark, dangerous jungly... which we will hesitate to go into.. unless we have a guide with a torch.
So, if you find yourself feeling stressed and edging burnout from carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders...
Or you've been overthinking a decision and could use some deep, heart-aligned clarity to get unstuck and move forward..
