The Father Wound - Podcast

🔥Fireside Chat: I finally did it!

Hey Reader

Quick one.

For over a decade people have been asking me if I have a podcast..

I didn't.

At the beginning I did not feel I had a message worth sharing, and then I just did not think most people had the attention span.

But I then remembered that my audience isn't dopameme-chasing teenagers, but devoted & driven adults.

Just like you.

And honestly, some of what I want to say just doesn’t fit in a 60-second reel..

So I finally did it! (*happy dance*)

It’s called "Into the Fire" and the first episode is up!

I asked my assistant to ask me the deepest questions she could around how our relationship with our father leads to burnout, falling for people who don't love us back and feeling stuck and empty regardless of all the success we achieve.

I opened up for the first time -in detail- about why my marriage ended, what it was like to grow up with my father, and shared the one practice most humans should do, but most cannot finish, to heal this wound.

If you listen to it, I'd love your feedback!

Just hit reply.

I'm reading and replying all of these over the weekend 🙂

(What you loved, what I can do better, etc. Since it's our first and my team and I are basically newbies at this.)

Thank you for being here and celebrating this special moment with me.

With you on the path,

Nico 'happy-dance' Canon

In this episode, we covered:

→ Why my marriage really ended (and the role I didn’t realize I was playing)

→ The one B+ on my report card that shaped how I saw myself for years

→ Why that instant “I feel like I’ve known you for lifetimes” chemistry is usually a red flag

→ Why a father who simply wasn’t there can leave a deeper wound than one who was harsh

→ Why the nicest, safest partner is often the one who eventually explodes

→ The bicycle moment that explains what every child needs from a father

→ Why the strongest person in the room is often the loneliest, and why nobody ever checks on them

→ Why I don’t believe you need to forgive your father (and what a briefcase full of money has to do with it)

→ How I swore I’d never date anyone like my mother, and ended up right there anyway

→ The 45-minute experiment most people can’t finish

→ Why my friend makes nine figures a year and still doesn’t feel good enough.

→ What my dad noticed first when he walked into my dream home

→ Why a powerful ceremony can show you everything, and the pattern still comes back by Monday

→ Why confronting your dad almost never gives you what you’re really after

→ The biggest lie women believe about men and commitment

→ Why someone who can run a company still waits by the phone like a teenager

Nobody ever comes to me saying, “I think I have a father wound.”

They say they’re burnt out.

That they keep falling for people who can’t love them back.

That their life looks great on paper and still feels empty.

So I sat down with my right hand Melanie to talk about where all of that really starts, and why it so often leads back to our fathers.

I also got honest about my own story with my dad, and what it cost me..
